DropBio® DHB(Erythrolose) is a natural ketose, which acts as a self-tanning agent and is often used with DHA to make its color more even. It reacts with existing free primary or secondary amino groups of keratin in the outermost layer of the epidermis. This chemistry between reducing sugar and amino acids, peptides, or proteins is similar to what is known as the “Maillard reaction”. The shade it causes is similar to a sun tan.
This coloring reaction is slow and gentle, enabling a natural, steady, and long-lasting tan without lines and patches. DHA is a safe tanning product that does not involve sunbathing or UV radiation. Plus, it does not include formaldehyde risks, and it does not have a foul smell to it. Plus, its stability has also been significantly improved. Its strong bond allows for safe and consistent tanning of the skin.
